Take a Tour! Custom Luxury Homes Chicago

Boasting nearly 10 million residents, the Chicago metropolitan is officially the third-most populous city in the United States and has been called a global architecture capital by virtue of its jaw-dropping stock of landmark buildings. It has quickly become one of the top visited cities in the nation with iconic landmarks such as Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum Campus, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo.

Chicago is a diverse and thriving city, with a rich history. Even though winters in Chicago have been described as “brutal,” the rest of the year are delightful times to be in the “Windy City”. During the summer, the weather is usually fairly mild, and Chicagoans are out, active and enjoying the plethora of activities on and around Lake Michigan, and beyond.

Long story short. We love Chicago! That’s why we wanted to showcase some of our favorite projects from the area.

Built in the exclusive “cage” neighborhood in Wilmette, IL, the small lot demanded a creative and compact layout, which was honored with an award from the Village of Wilmette. This project is considered traditional style, with classic lines.

The Phillips Residence

Inspired by the traditional four square home, the Phillip’s residence offers all the modern amenities while paying homage to the craft from which the style originated. The hallmarks of the four square homes are basically a square, boxy design, that is two-and-one-half stories high. Typically this design  has four large, boxy rooms per floor, a center dormer, and a large front porch with wide stairs. We love that this style provides homeowners a maximum amount of interior room space if working with a smaller city lot.

This home is a traditional east coast style inspired by casual, relaxed beach living, but done in a classic and very sophisticated way, as found in the Hamptons. Elements of a Hamptons-style home include the use of natural materials, classic shapes and lots of natural light. Additional details such as pitched ceilings, exposed beams, timber sarking on walls and ceilings, wood floors, pale colors and cedar shingles complete this classic look.
